Bubba Watson wins the 2012 Masters with a 2 hole playoff victory over South Africa’s Louis Oosthuizen. An unbelievable shot from the pine straw and trees of hole #10 has made Bubba Watson the 2012 Masters Champion.
Seemingly out of it with a horrible tee shot on the 2nd playoff hole, Watson could only wait and see what his opponent Oosthauizen would do with his tee shot. Much to Watson’s surprise, Oosthauizen hit a poor tee shot as well into the rough. Then upon watching his playoff opponent have his approach shot on #10 come up short on the front bank leading up to the green, Watson began to formulate his plan.
What came next was a truly remarkable wedge shot up and through the trees that hooked just to the right enough to put Bubba Watson in position to putt for his first win in a Major golf tournament. Oosthauizen proceeded to chip past the hole with his 3rd shot leaving him with a downhill tricky putt for par. It wasn’t meant to be for the South African as the ball rolled past the hole and a putt for bogey five by Louis Oosthauizen opened the door for Watson, meaning he only needed to 2 putt from about 10 feet to win the tournament. Much to Watson and his caddie’s dismay, that putt for birdie curled a bit left and missed the hole. But, a tap in 8″ putt sealed the deal and Bubba Watson in 2012 became champion of The Masters.
His attitude and style are huge for the game of golf. He has an amazing following of the younger generation of golfers. Bubba Watson autographs will be through the roof as a result of this big time win. Undoubtedly Bubba Watson signed a ton of autographs and took a good amount of pictures following the green jacket presentation. Hopefully his current ride of success will continue.
