Evan Longoria Solidifies Stardom

By | June 13, 2010

When early Major League Baseball All-Star Game voting results come out, the game usually looks like an exhibition between the New York Yankees and the National League. However, this year there is a non-pinstriped player comfortably leading the charge at third base. That player is Evan Longoria.

He couldn’t deserve it more. Evan Longoria is an absolute star this season. An Evan Longoria autograph may be one of the hottest commodities in baseball as he rips through June.

Elite performance on the field, where he is currently batting .328 with 11 homers and 47 RBIs, has allowed him to become a brand name off of it. Evan Longoria memorabilia is in high demand and it is difficult to sit through a commercial break and not see him at least once.

As the best player on the team with the best record in baseball, Longoria leads the way for a Rays team that seems to be dominating everyone. His contributions are a major reason why Tampa Bay Rays signed memorabilia has become as popular as it is.

The Rays had to let go of Crawford and Pena, traded away Bartlett and Garza, however, they still have a very good starting rotation and guys named Longoria and Zobrist. When you consider the aging rotations of the Yankees and Red Sox, the Rays should still in the middle of the race in 2011. Toronto could be a suprise team that sneaks into the mix as well.
